A TOTAl of 41 deaths involving Covid-19 have been recorded in the Lothians making it the third worst affected health board area in Scotland.
New statistics released by the National Records of Scotland have revealed 354 deaths have been connected to the virus across the country as of Sunday, April 5.
Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board saw the highest number with 122 recorded in their area, followed by 48 in Lanarkshire and 41 in the Lothians.
No deaths have been recorded in Orkney or the Western Isles.
The detailed breakdown of deaths which involveed Covid-19 revealed that 133 of the people who died in Scotland were aged between 75 and 84, 91 of them wer eover 85 years old and 82 were between 65 and 74 years old.
A further 44 deaths involved people aged between 44 and 64 with just four cases relating to people younger than 44 although no deaths of children aged up to 15 were recorded.
