THE duo behind an award-winning gin are gearing up to do what they can to keep people stocked up with their favourite tipple during the coronavirus crisis.

Emma Bouglet and Jo Brydie launched Fidra Gin, named after the island of Fidra in the Firth of Forth, in September 2018.

Now the fast-growing business, which is based near Athelstaneford, is looking to make deliveries by an unusual method of transport – a 1970s Ukrainian Ural motorbike and sidecar.

Jo said: “In these tumultuous times, we just felt this could bring some cheer into people’s lives.

“As movement is restricted and pubs and restaurants are closed, we wanted to help provide the means to a good night in.

“Many local food producers, shops and restaurants are also offering home delivery and we think this offers a fun and different way to support the local community and businesses during this difficult time.

“We are continuing our offer of free UK delivery on all online orders and, for those local to us in East Lothian, your gin could be delivered by motorbike and sidecar!”

Orders will be left in a safe place to avoid direct contact with customers.
