CONCERNS about anti-social behaviour from youngsters in Haddington have been passed on to police.

Constable Colin Boyd, Haddington and Lammermuir community officer, highlighted the issue to the town’s community council.

He said: “Calls have been received to the pavilion in Neilson Park, St Mary’s Church and to the skatepark at Whittingehame Drive about youths causing anti-social behaviour.

“As part of ongoing efforts by local officers and community wardens, these have been dealt with robustly and youths moved on.

“A number of parent advisory letters have been sent out and alcohol seized.

“Officers and community wardens will continue to disrupt these activities.”

Meanwhile, there have also been complaints about anti-social behaviour on Ross’s Close, off High Street.

PC Boyd said the area would continue to be patrolled by both officers and community wardens – the issue is also one of the priorities for Haddington and Lammermuir Community and Police Partnership.
