A PENCAITLAND man who assaulted two men in separate attacks has been ordered to pay his victims compensation.

Josh Lowther, of Millway, first became involved in an altercation with Josh O’Brien during an incident at South St David Street in Edinburgh.

Lowther assaulted the man by punching him to the head when the pair clashed in the Capital on October 2, 2018.

The 21-year-old appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Wednesday, where Sheriff Cottam told him he must pay Mr O’Brien £250 in compensation.

Lowther also admitted to a further charge of assault when he appeared at the city court the following day.

On this occasion, Lowther pleaded guilty to punching Lewis Baird to the head during a violent episode at Why Not Nightclub on the Capital’s George Street last year.

The attacker fled the club following the altercation, leading police to issue CCTV images of him to the media and public. He was eventually arrested and detained, and he admitted the nightclub assault during last week’s court appearance.

Sheriff Cottam also issued a compensation order resulting in Lowther having to pay Mr Baird £750.

Lowther admitted assaults in Edinburgh on October 2, 2018, and on September 10 last year.
