A BABY travelling in a car was taken to hospital after the driver lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a field.
A woman in the car had to be cut free from the vehicle following the 2pm incident today on the B6371 Ormiston Road on the edge of Tranent. No other vehicles were involved.
Police said the child was taken to hospital by ambulance as a precautionary measure.
Fire and rescue services attended the scene and a female was cut from the car, which had gone off-road into a field. Her condition is currently unknown.
Ormiston Road was closed in both directions at the scene to allow emergency vehicles access.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Police were called to the incident around 2pm following a single car crash.
"Fire and rescue attended.
"A woman was safely removed from the car around 3.05pm.
"There were minor injuries and a child was taken by ambulance to hospital as a precaution.”
