A 56-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested following a spate of vehicle vandalism in Tranent.

Residents of Robertson Avenue, Lindores Drive, Coalgate Avenue and Coalgate Road reported vehicles having their tyres slashed overnight between Saturday and Sunday.

Police have now confirmed that a man has been arrested.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 56-year-old man has been charged with vandalism in connection with damage to vehicles in the Coalgate Avenue, Coalgate Road, Lindores Drive and Robertson Avenue areas of Tranent.

"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
