A NORTH Berwick motorist has been banned from the road after he was caught over the drink-drive limit.
Reece Kennedy was driving on North Castle Street in the capital earlier this year when he was stopped by police officers.
Kennedy, of Phillimore Square, was found to have been driving his vehicle with no valid insurance and was around four times over the drink drive limit.
Kennedy, 27, admitted his guilt to both offences during an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Thursday.
He also had not guilty pleas to driving with a revoked licence and to attempting to run away from police accepted by the Crown.
Sheriff Kenneth McGowan banned Kennedy from driving for 22 months and fined him a total of £730.
Kennedy admitted to driving a vehicle with 87mg of alcohol in 100 ml of breath at North Castle Street, Edinburgh, on April 28 this year.
He also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance during the same incident.
