MEMBERS of the public are being urged to come forward with information regarding a possible assault in Haddington town centre.
Police are appealing for witnesses following a disturbance near Kilpair Street at about 10pm on Saturday.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “A group were heard shouting verbal threats towards others and there is a suggestion that an assault may have taken place.
“Officers are particularly interested in speaking to a male and female who were believed to be present during this incident.
“They are both described as being between 25-30 years old.
“The male was wearing t-shirt and shorts, the female wearing jeans and a light coloured coat.”
Anyone with information should phone 101 and quote incident number 2147 of August 4.
