EAST Lothian residents are being urged to rally round and support a local hero in his moment of need.

Scott Glynn, founder of the Walk With Scott Foundation, has been suffering from continuing ill health and now the community is being asked to support him as a fundraising campaign is launched.

A fundraising page set up to support the Tranent resident has been shared and championed by prominent figures from the town, including Councillor Colin McGinn and Radio Saltire’s Davie Martin.

The page states: “In response to Scott’s continuing ill health, we have embarked on a few fundraising ventures to help him and his family through this very difficult period.

“We have organised two events for the coming months which have sold out within minutes. We know there are plenty of people out there who are not able to attend these events for different reasons, therefore we have decided to open up this channel to allow those people (and others) to contribute to the overall effort.

“Clearly this is a difficult time for our friend, who has been such an amazing force for good within our community for many years – not only through his own fundraising efforts and community work, but also his unique ability to make people laugh (and cringe).

“It’s time for our community to give something back and provide him some support at this most difficult of times.”
