THE owners of a 'large amount' of partridges which were stolen from their home in East Fortune have offered a £2,500 reward to help catch the thieves.

Amanda and Brian Paxton are offering the money for information leading to a conviction in relation to the theft of the birds, which took place on Friday, April 26.

The couple are requesting that anyone with information on the theft message them through Facebook.

On the day of the theft, after spotting a suspicious vehicle on their private CCTV, the owners checked the sheds where the birds lived and found a lot to be missing, and a few of them to have died, apparently from shock.

The vehicle has been described by police as a 4x4 style car, similar to a Mitsubishi L200.

Information can be passed to Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0599 of April 26, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
