A PRESTONPANS resident found guilty of assaulting a man by headbutting him has been ordered to pay his victim compensation.
Lee Cochrane has been told he must pay Craig Reid £500 after he struck him with his head last year.
Cochrane, of Schaw Road, denied last year’s Christmas Eve allegation and stood trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week.
Following the evidence, the 33-year-old was found guilty of attacking Mr Reid but found not guilty of a second charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner. Sheriff Norman McFadyen ordered Cochrane to pay Mr Reid £500 in compensation.
Cochrane was found guilty of assaulting Craig Reid by striking him with his head to his injury at Rollo Court, Prestonpans, on December 24 last year. He was found not guilty of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence during the same incident.
