A PRESTONPANS pensioner has admitted wrongfully taking more than £1,300 from the public purse.
Ann Rennie, of Bankfoot, claimed a total of £1,367.14 from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) despite working in paid employment.
Rennie, 69, admitted claiming the housing benefit illegitimately when she appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week.
The OAP will return to court for sentencing on June 18.
Rennie pleaded guilty to an amended charge of failing to inform the DWP of a change in her circumstances that she was in paid employment and continued to claim £1,367.14 in housing benefit between April 8, 2013, and June 4, 2016.
