A NORTH Berwick driver has been banned from the road after he was found to be more than four times the legal drink-drive limit.
Owen Stephenson, 20, drove a vehicle in East Linton with 90mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath – the legal limit is just 22mcg.
Stephenson, of Craigleith Avenue, was banned from driving for 20 months and fined a total of £600 when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Wednesday.
Sheriff Robert Fife told the offender he could take part in a drink-drive rehabilitation course, which if successfully completed would allow the road ban to be cut by a quarter.
Stephenson pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle while over the limit at Main Street, East Linton, on November 10 last year.
