A WHITECRAIG man has admitted struggling with two police officers during an incident in Edinburgh.

Michael McNaught resisted and obstructed the officers at South Charlotte Street in November last year.

McNaught, of Whitecraig Avenue, kicked out at the two constables and tensed his body during the arrest procedure.

Police had previously arrived at Shandwick’s bar to deal with a disturbance.

The 36-year-old pleaded guilty to obstructing police when he appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday.

A not guilty plea to assaulting a man by repeatedly attempting to punch him to the head at Shandwick’s on the same date was accepted by the Crown.

Sheriff John Cook sentenced McNaught to pay a fine of £400.

McNaught resisted, hindered and obstructed two police officers and kicked out, struggled with them and tensed his body at South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, on November 3 last year.
