COASTGUARD and lifeboat teams helped rescue an injured horse rider on the beach at Seacliff yesterday (Sunday).
Dunbar Coastguard, North Berwick Coastguard and North Berwick RNLI were tasked on behalf of the Scottish Ambulance Service to help with a rider, who had fallen from their horse.
The rider was stretchered from the beach and into the care of the ambulance service.
Meanwhile, on returning to their station, the North Berwick lifeboat crew spotted an upturned Laser sailing dinghy with four people in the water, signalling for help.
One member of the lifeboat crew helped right the boat and, with one of the sailors, sailed it back to North Berwick, with the other three sailors picked up by the lifeboat.
They were later helped ashore at North Berwick Harbour by the Coastguard teams.
Dunbar Coastguard said on their Facebook page: "Dinghy sailors are recommended by UK Coastguard to carry a hand held VHF, a PLB for more remote locations, mini flares and a charged mobile phone."
