TRIBUTES have been paid to a nursery nurse who has retired after nearly 40 years’ service.
Susan Walker stepped down from her role at Macmerry Primary School shortly before the schools broke up for the Easter break.
Jennifer Welsh, who works at the school, said: “Susan is known for her love of children, patience, organisation, kind manner and her commitment to the children and their families.
“She has seen many colleagues come and go within the school and nursery and made many special friends along the way.
“Susan leaves us to embark on some travel, spend time with her family and take time to enjoy her many hobbies.
“She will also be the newest member of the ‘ladies who lunch club’ made from previous Macmerry retired staff.
“We all wish her a well-deserved, long and enjoyable retirement.”
Susan lives to the east of Haddington with her husband.
