THIS year's Cockenzie and Port Seton Gala has been saved.
The gala's organising committee had announced on Monday evening that this year's gala had been cancelled due to a lack of volunteers.
But an outpouring of support on social media caused an emergency meeting to be held yesterday evening (Thursday) to consider the future of the gala.
And following that meeting, the gala committee posted on Facebook: “We would like to give a big thank you to all who attended the EGM (emergency general meeting) tonight.
"We are thrilled to announce that we are now in a position to go ahead with the 2019 gala. Full steam ahead!”
Cockenzie and Port Seton Gala celebrated its 70th anniversary last year and is one of the largest galas in East Lothian.
