AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after “drugs paraphernalia” was found in Macmerry.

East Lothian Council and Police Scotland are working together following the discovery last Friday.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland told the Courier: “Police in East Lothian are investigating following the discovery of drugs paraphernalia near to a social club in Macmerry. The incident was reported to police on Friday, February 22.

“Inquiries are currently ongoing and the matter has been referred to East Lothian Council’s environmental health department.”

A spokeswoman for East Lothian Council confirmed they were aware of the incident.

She added: “The council’s protective services team responded to the information received and community wardens safely removed and disposed of the offending items. The service will continue, in partnership with Police Scotland, in their investigations.”
