“A FANATICAL jam maker” and baker has celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends.
Isabella ‘Isa’ Raeburn reached the milestone on Saturday at her home on Ormiston’s Tynemount Road.
The mum-of-one grew up on Tranent’s Lammermoor Terrace before marrying Willie Raeburn.
The couple, who were married for 71 years, moved to Elphinstone before settling in Ormiston along with son Billy.
Wendy Raeburn told the Courier her gran, who previously worked as a cleaner at the village’s primary school, loved making cakes.
She said: “She loved making her family and friends cakes in the village. She would make wedding cakes, big birthday cakes, 50th anniversary cakes and for the miners welfare as well.”
Willie passed away at the age of 94, with Isa having four granddaughters, four great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.
