A WARNING of snow and freezing rain for East Lothian has been issued by the Met Office.
Periods of freezing rain, with snow later, leading to dangerous travelling conditions, have been predicted between 9am tomorrow (Saturday) and 9am the following day.
The Met Office, which has released a yellow (be aware) warning for snow and ice for central and eastern parts of the county (see map, above), and a more serious amber (be prepared) warning for ice for the west of East Lothian, has warned people of potential travel delays and power cuts.
The amber weather warning states: “Black ice may form quickly affecting bus, train and air travel.
“Dangerous driving conditions are likely leading to road traffic collisions, road closures and longer journey times.”
