A MAN has denied assaulting the Hearts goalkeeper during a fiery Edinburgh derby in October.
Edward Harrold, of Stoneyhill Road, Musselburgh, is alleged to have punched Jambos keeper Zdenek Zlamal to the head, causing him to fall to the ground, at the football match.
The alleged assault is said to have taken place as Edinburgh clubs Hearts and Hibernian played out a goalless draw at Tynecastle on October 31.
Harrold, 23, pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday (Wednesday).
He will return to court to stand trial on February 15.
Harrold has been banned from attending any football matches until the trial is complete.
