TODAY'S heavy rain and strong winds are set to continue into tomorrow as Storm Diana hits East Lothian.

The Met Office has issued yellow 'be aware' warnings of rain and wind covering the eastern part of the county, as well as much of the west and north of Scotland, covering the period until Thursday afternoon.

In East Lothian, heavy rain is set to continue this evening and for most of tomorrow before easing up on Thursday evening, although more rain is expected throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday, though lighter.

Winds will remain strong this evening before easing tomorrow, weather forecasters project.

There is a risk of flooding in some areas, the Met Office says, although East Lothian looks set to escape the worst of the storm.
