VANDALS have trashed a mural created in Aberlady to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War.
The mural, which was painted by Julie Barnes, was one of a number of works of arts put up in the village in recent weeks ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armistice on Sunday, also including life-like sculptures and a wall covered with poppies.
Decorated with First World War planes, it was also a tribute to 100 years of the Royal Air Force (RAF).

But vandals have now wrecked the mural, which was created with help from pupils at Aberlady Primary School, by cutting the cable ties and removing the anchor hooks.
Residents have been left furious by the vandalism, labelling it "disgusting" and "vile behaviour".
As well as the artworks, Aberlady is marking 100 years since the war's end with a vintage afternoon tea tomorrow (Saturday) from 2pm, and then a ceremony at the war memorial at 11am on Sunday.
