COASTGUARD and lifeboat teams rushed to a report of two people being cut off by the tide yesterday evening (Tuesday).
Following the 8.30pm callout, the North Berwick Coastguard team immediately made their way to the reported location to the east of Milsey Bay, North Berwick.
A shoreline search followed, assisted by the North Berwick lifeboat.
Rescue officers located two fishermen on an area at Partan Craig, known locally as 'The Basin', but both were safe and in no danger.
Coastguard and lifeboat teams were stood down soon after, content that it was a false alarm.
