A WALL at the Fisherrow Centre in Musselburgh was damaged after being struck by a delivery truck.
A spokeswoman for the Fisherrow Trust, which runs the centre, said the wall “cracked” and was later knocked down by East Lothian Council for safety reasons.
Another trust spokeswoman said: “The centre staff acted swiftly and professionally to ensure clients to the centre and the public were safeguarded by cordoning the damaged wall off.
“It was damaged by a truck making a delivery to the centre. Nobody was injured due to this incident. East Lothian Council attended to dismantle the wall for safety [reasons].”
The centre, on South Street, is a community resource run by local volunteers on the Fisherrow Trust, a board of trustees and charity which oversees its management and development.
The building is owned by the council and leased to the trust, the main purpose of which is to develop the facilities in the centre for the use of the community.
The centre offers a range of facilities to local individuals, groups and organisations, including a nursery, offices, halls, events and activity areas.
The building hosts a Christmas craft fair and acts as a base for Vibrant Musselburgh.
