SCOTLAND and Celtic footballer Leigh Griffiths will stand trial later this year after he denied a speeding charge.
Griffiths, of Wallyford, failed to appear at Edinburgh Justice of the Peace Court today (Tuesday), but a solicitor lodged a not guilty plea on his behalf.
Griffiths, 28, is alleged to have driven a vehicle at 54mph while in a 40mph limit at Cammo Road, Edinburgh, on January 21 this year.
The Scotland international will return to court for trial in December.
