1. Saltire Festival
Various events are taking place in East Lothian this weekend to celebrate the county being the birthplace of Scotland's flag.

2. Book Week Scotland events
Events have been taking place across East Lothian for Book Week Scotland this week and conclude at the weekend.
Saturday sees Coo Clayton and Alison Soye at the John Gray Centre in Haddington at 11am, while Lin Anderson is also appearing at North Berwick Library at 3pm.
3. Christmas lights switch-ons
Several communities are switching on their lights this weekend.
On Saturday it is Gullane's turn (5pm at the Smiddy Green).
Then on Sunday it is time for events in Musselburgh (Christmas market outside the Old Town Hall 11am-3.30pm, torchlight parade from Old Town Hall to Brunton at 6pm for switch-on at 6.45pm), Prestonpans (parade from Town Hall at 5.15pm, switch-on at Civic Square) and Cockenzie and Port Seton (5pm at Christmas tree outside John Bellany Day Centre).
4. Daniel Sloss at The Brunton
Award-winning stand-up comedian Daniel Sloss comes to The Brunton in Musselburgh.
He is bringing his new show Now to the venue at 8pm.
5. Winter Wonderland
Tranent Gala Committee is hosting a winter wonderland at the Town Hall on Sunday.
Santa and his elf are giving a free gift to every child where there are also stalls, tombola, raffle, refreshments and more, 2-4pm.
