PET owner Keith Anderson is celebrating after his dog Blu was crowned Courier Pet Idol Champion for 2017.
Four-year-old Blu, who is an American Bulldog, has been with Keith since he was eight weeks old.
And Prestonpans resident Keith, 34, said despite appearances his pooch is a big softie.
He told the Courier: “Blu can look like a bit of a wrong ‘un if people don’t know him, but he is a big softie and scared of his own shadow.
“He is a cracking pet and I am delighted he has won.”
HGV driver Keith, who lives on Drummore Drive, lists Blu’s favourite past-times as playing with a football, chasing tennis balls, and visiting his mum.
He said: “Blu loves going to my mum’s house the most because she gives him lots of treats and things he shouldn’t. He is treated like one of the grandchildren.”
The yearly contest to find the county’s top pet attracted more than 300 entries, while several thousand votes were cast.
