A MAN has been left permanently impaired after he was smashed over the head with a skateboard by a Haddington teenager.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, struck the man once to the head, leaving him with serious head injuries.
The boy attacked his victim over an alleged debt at the town’s High Street last May.
During an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, he pleaded guilty to the assault charge.
Sheriff Frank Crowe deferred sentence on the boy to March 21.
The teenager pleaded guilty to assaulting the man to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and permanent impairment at High Street, Haddington, on May 15 last year.
