A COUNTY painter and decorator has been sentenced to a supervision order after he admitted dealing drugs at an Edinburgh prison.
Craig Bryson, of Market Street, Haddington, was caught supplying heroin at HM Prison Edinburgh at Saughton two years ago.
Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told last Thursday that heroin “was still an issue” for Bryson and, following a positive report, he was willing to do unpaid work at the weekends.
Solicitor Ms Crawford said that her client had lost contact with his GP when he moved from North Berwick but had now made contact with a local Haddington doctor.
Sheriff Frank Crowe said that Bryson needed to “get away from all his dodgy mates” if he wanted to start afresh, and added he believed it was “a credit to you that you are still working”.
Sheriff Crowe ordered 12 months of supervision and Bryson will have to attend drug counselling.
Bryson was also electronically tagged and will not be allowed to leave his home address between 9pm and 6am.
