YOUNGSTERS have been warned about the dangers of jumping into Dunbar Harbour.
Reports of youngsters jumping into the harbour have been raised on numerous occasions and the act dates back many years.
Police Constable Gavin Ross told members of Dunbar and East Linton Community and Police Partnership there had again been “quite a few” reports of youths jumping into the harbour.
The officer stressed the thrill-seekers had generally been jumping into relatively safe spots in the harbour but he was concerned they would become bored over the summer and take greater risks.
He added police would get involved if people were jumping off the harbour back wall when the sea was rough or from “extremely” high points.
There had also been a report of youngsters jumping at the Linn Falls, at East Linton.
PC Ross added: “We will continue to monitor youth activities.”
