A RACEGOER was taken to hospital with head injuries after reports of a large fight breaking out on Musselburgh High Street on Saturday.
The 56-year-old man was found by police outside a pub after they were called to deal with fighting in the town centre, shortly after 6pm.
Police Scotland said the man told officers he had been at Musselburgh Racecourse, where the popular Ladies Day was being held at the weekend.
He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary; however, his injuries were not thought to be serious.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called to the High Street following a report of a large fight.
"One man was found to be injured at the scene and taken to hospital as a precaution."
