NORTH Berwick Rugby Club is set to welcome the iconic Webb Ellis Trophy in the summer, ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England later this year.

The famous Rugby World Cup trophy will be in North Berwick on June 12 as part of a five-day tour around clubs and venues in Scotland.

It comes as part of the trophy tour ahead of the game’s showpiece, which starts in September.

Debbie Jevans, CEO of England Rugby 2015, said: “The Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour will be the perfect opportunity to excite and engage fans.

“Delivering a continuous 10- day tour means we can give as many fans as possible the opportunity to see the Webb Ellis Cup and tell us their rugby story.” The trophy will begin its journey round Scotland at Lothian Park in Jedburgh, before visiting North Berwick the following day and making the trip to BT Murrayfield.

It continues on to Cupar before going to Highland RFC and then Scotstoun, Glasgow, and Millbrae in Ayr.
