POLICE are hunting a man who suffered a head injury after he was struck by a van in Tranent on Sunday afternoon.
The man is understood to have left the scene before emergency services arrived following the collision on Old Post Road, at about 4.30pm.
Police searched the area and a helicopter was launched to try and find the man, who was described as in his early twenties, clean shaven and possibly Eastern European. He was wearing a dark hooded top and blue jeans.
Police spokesman Inspector Robert Rodriguez said: “This man has sustained a head injury and left the scene before we had a chance to trace him.
“There are obvious concerns in relation to this male and anyone who witnessed the accident or saw a man matching this description is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
