A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of Macmerry man Colin Armstrong.
James Caven, 38, from Macmerry, appeared on petition at Haddington Sheriff Court this morning.
He has been charged with three counts of assault, as well as a charge of "assault, murder and previously evince malice and ill-will".
Caven made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody for further examination.
