A 49-YEAR-OLD woman was taken to hospital in the early hours of this morning after she was allegedly stabbed in her home in Musselburgh.
The woman, who has not been named, was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after police were called to the house on Burns Wynd in the town shortly before 4am.
She was later transferred to St John's Hospital in Livingston, where her condition was described as "serious".
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We were called to an address in Musselburgh at around 3.50am.
"A 41-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident."
