MUSSELBURGH-born Huw Jones was among the first-half tries on his return to Scotland action this afternoon (Saturday).

He scored in the first half as Scotland triumphed over Samoa 44-38 in an entertaining contest at BT Murrayfield.

Jones scored just after the half-hour to give Gregor Townsend's side the lead over the Pacific islanders.

It was their second of three first-half scores, following a second-minute score from Stuart Hogg and a first test try by Stuart McInally on the stroke of half-time.

Scotland, who lost WP Nel to injury in the first half, led 25-10 at the break.

A second from McInally and tries from Alex Dunbar and Peter Horne secured victory for Gregor Townsend's side.

They face the All Blacks next Saturday and Australia on November 25.
