KYLE Rogerson narrowly missed out on a podium place at Cowdenbeath Racewall on Saturday evening.

He was among the Ministox racers competing for the Racing for Ramsay Shield at the Fife circuit.

Rogerson, of Tranent, finished eighth in the opening heat before moving one place further forward in heat two.

The final was a fast race, with Rogerson slotting into sixth place but running in a group of five cars.

As the race progressed, the group caught the leader but they in turn had other cars joining in the dice for the lead.

Rogerson managed to move into fourth but was now adrift from those ahead and was under pressure from those behind.

In the end, he had to settle for fourth place, with the top three being presented with their trophies by the Ramsay family.

Meanwhile, Dayle Chisholm was among the saloon drivers at the track and was one of those racing in the final of the white/yellow series.

When the race started, the Dunbar ace was outwith the top 10 but, as the race progressed, he started to make up ground.

By half-distance, he was in the top 10 and, whilst he picked up another couple of places, he had to settle for eighth place at the close.

There were 23 saloon cars racing in the main part of the meeting and, whilst Chisholm ran well, he failed to get into the classifications in any of his other races.
