THE Scottish Cup adventure continues for Dunbar United and Musselburgh Athletic.
Both sides came through 1-0 on away trips but there was home disappointment for both Haddington Athletic and Preston Athletic.
In league action, it was a weekend to forget for Tranent while Ormiston Primrose picked up a point at home.
Nicky Reid scored on the hour mark to give Musselburgh a 1-0 win away to Penicuik Athletic.
The goal helped set up a home tie with Darvel in the first round of the national cup competition.
Joining them in the first round are Dunbar United, who won by the same scoreline against Bonnyton Thistle.
Liam Gregory’s goal was all that separated the two sides, with Dunbar going on to face Bo’ness Athletic at New Countess Park on September 28.
Elsewhere in the cup, there was heartache for Preston Athletic against Irvine Meadow.
Seb Mrowczynski had opened the scoring for the Prestonpans side before Euan Baird levelled before the break.
The hosts took the lead for a second time through Ben Weekes before the visitors managed to turn things round with two stoppage time goals.
Lewis Neilson scored in the 92nd minute before Tam Cruden scored just seconds later to put them through.
Elsewhere, Auchinleck Talbot opened the scoring at Millfield through Connor McGubbin-Boyd.
Luke Kennedy ensured the scores were level at the break with his first goal for Haddington.
McGubbin-Boyd put his side back in front just before the hour mark, wrapped up his hat-trick with 13 minutes left and finished the scoring three minutes later.
Meanwhile, in the East of Scotland Football League Third Division, all the goals at New Recreation Park came in the final half an hour.
Edinburgh Community opened the scoring before Chris Hogg levelled things up.
Pol Adrian put the hosts in front but again the lead did not last long as the visitors found the net to ensure the spoils were shared.
Finally, in the Scottish Lowland Football League, Celtic B proved too strong for Tranent and won 6-0.
