FORMER Musselburgh Athletic fans’ favourite Bradley Whyte has been named cinch League 2 Player of the Month.
The midfielder has been a key part of The Spartans’ success in their debut campaign in the Scottish Professional Football League. The Capital club sit fourth in the table and in the play-off places after a dozen games.
During October, they picked up six points out of six and avoided a Scottish Cup upset when they knocked out former SPFL stalwarts Brechin City.
Whyte, who lives in Musselburgh, scored against both Dumbarton and Brechin and teed up Blair Henderson for the winning goal at Stranraer.
Speaking to Courier Sport last month, the 23-year-old, who is joined at the club by Haddington’s Paul Watson, said: “For the first season, we will be happy to make ourselves secure in the league and have a good season. We will try to finish as high as possible.
“Finding our feet is probably the main aim but getting to the play-offs would be a bonus.”
