THERE were wins for Tranent and Dunbar United this weekend as late goals held Musselburgh Athletic and Ormiston Primrose to draws. Haddington Athletic were beaten while Preston Athletic conceded seven in the First Division.

 

Tranent 2 Gala Fairdydean Rovers 1

 

Tranent were 2-1 winners at home to Gala Fairydean Rovers in the Lowland League.

Cammy Ross fired Tranent ahead on 15 minutes with a thunderous effort to the bottom left corner.

The lead was doubled just before half time when Alassan Jones netted.

The visitors came out fighting in the second half and pulled a goal back from the penalty spot just four minutes in.

Continuous Gala pressure was causing the home defence a lot of problems, but they remained resolute and secured the win.

Tranent are fourth in the table and travel to Lugar Boswell Thistle in the Challenge Cup on Saturday.

 

Dundonald Bluebell 2 Musselburgh Athletic 2

 

A late comeback saw Musselburgh Athletic held to a 2-2 draw away to Dundonald Bluebell in the Premier Division.

Musselburgh had led the game 2-0 after first half goals from Nathan Evans and Jordan Smith on 32 and 35 minutes.

But despite the comfortable position, the hosts pulled a goal back on 83 minutes before netting a 94th minute penalty to snatch an unlikely draw.

Musselburgh are third in the table and face Johnston Burgh at home in the Challenge Cup on Saturday.

 

Dunbar United 2 Crossgates 1

 

Dunbar United were 2-1 winners over Crossgates in the Premier Division.

Taylor Hendry had Dunbar in front on 12 minutes from the penalty spot before Brandon Archibald made it 2-0 on 19 minutes with a superb strike.

The visitors pulled a goal back on 73 minutes through Archie Campbell, but Dunbar held on for a well earned three points.

They sit fourth in the table and host Cumbernauld Colts in the Challenge Cup on Saturday.

 

Jeanfield Swifts 3 Haddington Athletic 0

 

Haddington Athletic were on the receiving end of a 3-0 defeat away to in-form Jeanfield Swifts in the Premier Division.

The hosts had the lead on 30 minutes before making it two on 65 minutes. A 90th minute goal rounded off the 3-0 win for the hosts who sit second in the table.

Haddington are seventh in the table and are not in action this weekend.

 

Preston Athletic 0 Camelon Juniors 7

 

It was a weekend to forget for Preston Athletic as they were humbled 7-0 at home to Camelon Juniors in the First Division.

The visitors took the lead just after the half hour mark before doubling it before half time.

The second half brought an array of goals as Kieran Dolan completed his hattrick and Scott Sinclair and Sam Collumbrie both added two.

Preston are ninth in the table and travel to Linton Hotspur in the King Cup on Saturday.

 

Easthouses Lily 2 Ormiston Primrose 2

 

Ormiston Primrose were held to a 2-2 draw away to Easthouses Lily in the Second Division.

The visitors led at the break thanks to Kerr Marr before the home side drew level in the second half.

Ormiston were again in front late on trough Dylan Hamilton, but a 93rd minute goal from the hosts earned them a draw.

Ormiston are 15th in the table and host Vale of Leithen in the King Cup on Saturday.
