ONLY four of East Lothian’s football teams are in action this afternoon (Saturday).

Tranent Juniors have already wrapped up their campaign while Dunbar United spend Saturday on the sidelines in the race for the East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) First Division title.

Haddington Athletic, Musselburgh Athletic and Ormiston Primrose are all at home while Preston Athletic venture to Kennoway Star Hearts in search of three points.

Jeanfield Swifts are the visitors to Millfield as the battle for fourth spot in the Premier Division goes down to the wire.

Meanwhile, Musselburgh welcome an Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts side safe from the threat of relegation.

Ormiston Primrose host Heriot Watt University in the Second Division as they look to avoid the drop.

All the games kick off at 2.30pm.

Match of the Day

Haddington Athletic v Jeanfield Swifts

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Haddington Athletic last five games: WLWDW

FOURTH to eighth is separated by just three points as the Premier Division teams enter the final round of fixtures.

Haddington sit seventh in those standings and would move up the final table with a victory.

Their opponents are in pole position for fourth spot but know there are a number of teams right behind them.

Jeanfield were 4-1 winners in the reverse fixture but Haddington’s form since the turn of the year has made them one of the top teams in the division.

ON PAPER, there is little to play for as Musselburgh welcome Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts to Olivebank.

The Honest Toun side are secure in third spot and cannot catch Sauchie Juniors above them or be overtaken by the teams below them.

Similarly, the Fife opposition are safe from relegation at the other end of the table.

An away win could see them move up to ninth in the standings but they lost 2-1 at home to Musselburgh in September.

Kennoway Star Hearts v Preston Athletic

East of Scotland Football League First Division

Preston Athletic last five games: DLWLL

ROCK BOTTOM Kennoway Star Hearts are the opponents for Preston Athletic this afternoon.

The Fife side will be playing Second Division football next season having enjoyed just two league wins this campaign.

Meanwhile, Preston Athletic sit in eighth spot but could yet climb the table with some impressive results over the coming weeks.

A 1-1 draw at the Pennypit back in August shows there can be no room for complacency but Preston will be looking for three points.

Ormiston Primrose v Heriot Watt University

East of Scotland Football League Second Division

Ormiston Primrose last five games: LWWWL

AN AWAY win for Heriot Watt University would just about secure their place in the First Division next season.

The Capital club sit third in the table, with four sides gaining promotion.

Three points would mean only goal difference could deny them one of those spots.

In contrast, Ormiston will be looking for three points to ensure they stay in the Second Division.

A win could move them five clear of Craigroyston and also lift them above Newburgh Juniors.
