HALF of East Lothian’s senior teams have home comforts this afternoon (Saturday).

Among those on their travels are Tranent Juniors, who have lost out in their bid for back-to-back promotions but will be looking to finish the campaign strongly as they face East Kilbride.

Meanwhile, in the East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL), Haddington Athletic cross the Forth to face Crossgates Primrose while Musselburgh Athletic welcome champions-elect Linlithgow Rose.

In the First Division, Dunbar United are looking to build on an impressive win last time out when they head to Kinnoull while Preston Athletic are looking to build consistency as they host Camelon.

Finally, Ormiston Primrose are at home to Edinburgh South in the Second Division.

Tranent’s game kicks off at 3pm, with the EoSFL all getting under way half an hour earlier.

Match of the Day

Kinnoull v Dunbar United

East of Scotland Football League First Division

Dunbar United last five games: WLLLW

A MUCH-NEEDED win for Dunbar United last time out against Luncarty ensured Kevin Haynes and his team maintained their six point lead at the top of the First Division.

The Seasiders have six games level and will be looking to firstly secure promotion and then, hopefully, go on to secure the league title.

They travel to Tulloch Park to face a Kinnoull side who have their own promotion ambitions.

They sit two points adrift of Newtongrange Star, who occupy the last promotion spot, but have the benefit of three games in hand.

Dunbar were 5-0 winners at New Countess Park in November but it could prove a tighter affair this time round.

East Kilbride v Tranent Juniors

Scottish Lowland Football League

Tranent Juniors last five games: LLDWL

DEFEATS to University of Stirling and Spartans officially ended Tranent’s bid for consecutive promotions.

However, that should not take away from an impressive debut campaign at the fifth tier of Scottish football.

Colin Nish’s men can still finish fourth in the league but firstly will be looking to secure fifth with a win over East Kilbride.

Regular title challengers, Kilby won 3-2 at Foresters Park on the opening day of the campaign but plenty has changed since then.

Crossgates Primrose v Haddington Athletic

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Haddington Athletic last five games: WWDLW

A STOPPAGE time winner ensured Haddington made it back-to-back wins when they faced Hill of Beath Hawthorn last weekend.

The win kept the Hi Hi firmly on course for a top five finish in their first season in the Premier Division.

If they are to achieve that, a win over Crossgates Primrose would be a massive step in the right direction.

The Fife side have five games in hand over their visitors and trail by six points.

East Lothian Courier: Musselburgh Athletic (blue) welcome Linlithgow RoseMusselburgh Athletic (blue) welcome Linlithgow Rose

Musselburgh Athletic v Linlithgow Rose

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Musselburgh Athletic last five games: WLWDL

LINLITHGOW Rose could be crowned champions this afternoon while Musselburgh Athletic will be looking to keep the champagne on ice.

Three points for the West Lothian side and a defeat for Sauchie would mean an unassailable lead at the top of the Premier Division.

However, Musselburgh are keen to finish as high up the table as possible and they leapfrogged Jeanfield Swifts last weekend.

Another three points could close the gap on Sauchie in second spot.

Preston Athletic v Camelon

East of Scotland Football League First Division

Preston Athletic last five games: LDLLL

WINLESS in five games, Preston Athletic will be looking to get their campaign back on track.

Nine wins and 10 defeats from their 23 games highlights the inconsistency problem facing Paul Currie and John Daly.

They will be looking to finish strongly over the last seven games in a bid to ensure they hit the ground running next term.

Camelon have their own relegation concerns to ease and sit only five points above the drop zone.

East Lothian Courier: Ormiston Primrose (black and white) need wins in their bid to avoid relegationOrmiston Primrose (black and white) need wins in their bid to avoid relegation

Ormiston Primrose v Edinburgh South

East of Scotland Football League Second Division

Ormiston Primrose last five games: LLDLL

PROMISING showings against promotion-chasing Arniston Rangers and Dalkeith Thistle are one thing but Ormiston are needing points in their bid to avoid relegation.

The county side have nine games remaining but with a six-point gap to Craigroyston they need to start toasting victories.

Edinburgh South sit 11th in the standings and look set for a mid-table finish.

Richie Weir’s men lost the reverse fixture 1-0 and will be looking to turn that score on its head.
