NORTH Berwick Rugby Club’s under-18s are celebrating after claiming Scottish Rugby’s East Regional Cup following a comfortable victory over Boroughmuir.
The county side finished second in their pool behind Boroughmuir, before overcoming Linlithgow in the semi-final to set up the final against the Capital side at Peffermill on Saturday.
North Berwick would run out 63-14 winners, overturning the 33-14 defeat they had suffered in the pool stage.
The side were also wearing special yellow, blue and black socks in support of My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
Ken Muir, director of rugby, said: “I and the North Berwick Rugby community are delighted for our under-18 squad and coaches.
“The East Regional Cup final success is deserved reward for their efforts this season.
“The conditions and surface were ideal and they played the open, running brand of rugby that we’ve been working towards.
“A great way for the older boys to sign off from youth and school rugby.”
