GROUNDHOP Day means football fans in East Lothian can enjoy four games today (Saturday).
Dunbar United, Haddington Athletic, Tranent Juniors and Musselburgh Athletic are all at home.
Kick-off times are staggered to allow fans to attend each of the games.
Coldstream are the visitors to New Countess Park in an 11.15am kick-off before fans turn their attention to Haddington versus Dundonald Bluebell at 2pm.
Tranent host Bo’ness United at 5pm and the curtain comes down at Olivebank as Musselburgh host Broxburn Athletic in a 7.45pm start.
Elsewhere, Preston Athletic travel to Kennoway Star Hearts and Ormiston Primrose go to Thornton Hibs – both are 2.30pm kick offs.
Dunbar United (black and white stripes) welcome Coldstream to New Countess Park in an early kick off
Match of the Day
Dunbar United v Coldstream
East of Scotland Football League First Division
Dunbar United last five games: WLLWW
THE first game of Groundhop Day kicks off at New Countess Park when Coldstream make the trip north.
The bid for a league title is back in Dunbar’s hands with their nearest challengers now unable to overtake them simply by winning their games in hand.
However, with nine games, including today, still to play, there is still plenty to play for.
Coldstream are at the other end of the table and sit in the relegation places on goal difference.
On paper, it might look relatively straight forward but the spoils were shared in the reverse fixture.
Tranent Juniors (maroon) host Bo'ness United
Tranent Juniors v Bo’ness United
Scottish Lowland Football League
Tranent Juniors last five games: WLWLW
FOR the first time in several weeks, all of the main title challengers for the Scottish Lowland Football League have played the same number of games.
Spartans lead the way on 68 points and boast a five-point advantage over Tranent Juniors, with Stirling University one-point further adrift.
This evening, Tranent welcome 10th placed Bo’ness to Foresters Park.
Colin Nish’s men remain firmly in the mix and are still to play both of their title rivals.
However, any slip ups before those two contests could prove costly.
Haddington Athletic (maroon) welcome Dundonald Bluebell to Millfield
Haddington Athletic v Dundonald Bluebell
East of Scotland Football League Premier Division
Haddington Athletic last five games: WWWWW
A THRILLING 4-3 win over Sauchie Juniors last weekend means Haddington are now 10 games unbeaten in the league.
Now, they will be looking to continue their fine run as they welcome Dundonald Bluebell to Millfield.
The Hi Hi are the in-form team in the top flight of the East of Scotland Football League.
Haddington were 2-1 winners in Fife at the beginning of September and another three points would edge them closer to a top five finish.
Musselburgh Athletic (blue) have the late kick off on Saturday as they host Broxburn
Musselburgh Athletic v Broxburn Athletic
East of Scotland Football League Premier Division
Musselburgh Athletic last five games: WWLWW
A THUMPING win over Blackburn United last weekend kept Musselburgh firmly in the hunt for second place in the Premier Division.
Jeanfield Swifts and Sauchie sit two points ahead of Liam Burns and his side as the season enters the final straight.
Broxburn Athletic are the latest visitors to Olivebank and probably need just a handful of points to secure another season in the top flight.
The two sides met on the second day of the season and the spoils were shared on that occasion.
Plenty has changed since the game in August.
Preston Athletic (blue) face a trip to Kennoway Star Hearts
Kennoway Star Hearts v Preston Athletic
East of Scotland Football League First Division
Preston Athletic last five games: LLWWL
POSTPONEMENT against Coldstream last Saturday means Preston look to get back to winning ways at Kennoway Star Hearts.
The Fife side look destined for the drop and sit 11 points adrift of safety with 11 games left to play.
In contrast, Preston will need an impressive end to the campaign to power themselves into the promotion picture.
At the very least, they will want to finish as high up the standings as possible.
The two sides shared a 1-1 draw at the Pennypit at the beginning of August.
Ormiston Primrose (black and white) are back to league business against Thornton Hibs
Thornton Hibs v Ormiston Primrose
East of Scotland Football League Second Division
Ormiston Primrose last five games: LLDDD
THE disappointment of a cup exit to Hawick Royal Albert needs to be put aside as Ormiston look to continue their fight against relegation.
Richie Weir’s men sit five points adrift of Craigroyston, who sit just outside of the relegation zone.
Their hosts Thornton Hibs are in mid-table – clear of the relegation zone but likely too far adrift of the three promotion places.
Thornton Hibs were 3-0 winners in the reverse fixture but Ormiston have been in decent form as of late.
