BIRTHDAY boy Gary Anderson is on a mission to secure a hat-trick of world titles.
The darts star won the PDC World Darts Championship in both 2015 and 2016.
He begins his quest for a third title this evening (Thursday) against Latvia’s Madars Razma.
The tournament, which is being played at London’s Alexandra Palace, got under way last Thursday.
Anderson, of Musselburgh, is seeded 11 at the competition, as fellow Scotsman Peter Wright looks to retain his crown.
On Sunday, Razma – a five-time national champion – defeated India’s Prakash Jiwa to secure his place in the second round.
The best-of-five match between Anderson, who turns 52 today (Thursday), and Razma is one of four scheduled for this evening from 7pm.
As well as his two titles, Anderson, who received a bye to the second round, has finished as runner-up on three occasions and also reached the semi-finals this year, where he lost to Wright.
The final is due to be played on January 3.
