THERE were mixed fortunes for Dunbar United and Musselburgh Athletic in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup.
The Seasiders made their delayed trip to Gretna in the second round of the competition and came away with a victory.
James Redpath opened the scoring for the visitors before Liam Gregory doubled the advantage from the penalty spot.
Russell Currie pulled one back for Gretna 2008 10 minutes after the restart but it was Dunbar who progressed to the next round.
The East Lothian side will welcome Crossgates Primrose to New Countess Park in the third round in the new year.
Meanwhile, Musselburgh’s journey ended in the fourth round at home to Edinburgh University.
The visitors were 2-0 up midway through the first half before Jordan Smith pulled one back before the break.
Musselburgh pushed for a leveller but a third goal for the Capital club five minutes from time killed off the contest.
