LIZ Musgrove has been named on the bench for Scotland’s final group game at the Rugby World Cup.

The Scots take on hosts and reigning champions New Zealand in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Bryan Easson’s side will be out to cause an upset after narrow defeats to Wales and Australia.

A victory could be enough to see them progress from the group phase after the Scots secured bonus points in the defeats.

Musgrove, of North Berwick, is among the replacements for the contest, which kicks off 4.45am BST.

Ahead of the match, which is live on STV Player, Easson said: “Last weekend’s result was a tough one to take but I can’t fault the passion, determination and belief the squad displayed against Australia.

“We’ve had a really good review this week and we will be looking to make sure we are clinical in executing our game plan against the Black Ferns.

“We’ve got two losing bonus points against two good sides and we are now looking to push on and show everyone that we are still in the fight.”

Megan Gaffney, also from North Berwick, is missing from the matchday 23.
