MEGAN Gaffney has not been named in the Scotland line-up for the country's second game at the Rugby World Cup.

Gaffney, of North Berwick, is missing from the matchday squad - along with Liz Musgrove, also of the county town - for the contest with Australia in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Thirty-year-old Gaffney scored two tries in Scotland's 18-15 defeat to Wales last weekend.

Bryan Easson, head coach of Scotland Women, revealed his squad earlier today (Thursday).

He said: "We haven’t faced Australia before so it’s going to be a different contest to last weekend.

“With a six-day turnaround, we’ve had a greater focus on analysis than usual and it’s been important that the players recover and reset ahead of this Saturday."

The contest is screened on STV Player and kicks off at 3am UK time.

Scotland finish the group phase the following weekend against reigning champions and hosts New Zealand.
