SCOTLAND cap Rory Darge is facing “several months” on the sidelines after a serious ankle injury.

The flanker was stretchered off in the early stages of Glasgow Warriors’ comprehensive win over Cardiff last Friday evening.

Darge, of Aberlady, received treatment on the pitch before being given oxygen.

Speaking following the 52-24 win at Scotstoun, Franco Smith, head coach of Glasgow, said he was “devastated” for Darge.

The 22-year-old suffered a dislocated ankle after being caught in an awkward position in the ruck.

Glasgow Warriors said surgery was successful and Darge “will now begin rehabilitation that will see him out of action for several months”.
